Carlene Lai

Carlene Lai, received most of her dance training in the professional dance schools in Taiwan. She currently holds a B.A. degree in dance and a minor in digital art from University of California, Irvine (UCI). Carlene studied Graham technique with Ross Parks in Taiwan and furthered the study with Donald Mckayle in UCI. During her study at UCI, she danced with UCI Etude Ensemble in the Black Dance Festival in Dallas, Texas. In recognition of her overall dedication and excellence, Carlene received honors such as Arts Bridge and UROP Scholarships in UCI. Each year, she continues to contribute to the community with her dances in the Chinese Dance Festival in San Gabriel Theater. Carlene has performed with choreographer Louise Reichlin, and this is Carlene's fourth season with Benita Bike's DanceArt.
