In the Expanse: Visions of the Desert gives an impression of the Arizona desert.

The music was performed and recorded in real time, using a variety of instruments and kitchen objects, processed by the DMX-1000 Signal Processing Computer. The computer was programmed with a variety of stero recirculating echo patterns, which were automatically changed every few seconds. These delay-line length changes were made linearly over a second or so and gave a pitch-shifting effect.
