Sonia Baker

Sonia Baker began her dance training at Long Beach City College, where she studied with Sheree King and Arlene Brackett. Sonia graduated from California State University Long Beach in May 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance. At CSULB Sonia studied modern dance and ballet with numerous professionals including Douglas Nielsen, Susan McLain, and Alaine Haubert.

Sonia has choreographed several dances for student dance concerts for Long Beach City College and for the CSULB Contemporary Concert. Under the direction of Andrew N. Milhan, Sonia has both stage managed department concerts and provided lighting design for the Contemporary concerts. Sonia is also a certified Pilates instructor. Sonia's future plans include continuation of her theatre work, obtaining her Master's degree, and pursuing involvement with professional dance companies in Southern California. Sonia joined Benita Bike's DanceArt Company in spring 2002.
